Concerned women of Calgary, Canada, are playing a more aggressive role in the city's political process. The first Winning Women conference was organized in 1989 and since then numerous graduates of the organization have assumed key positions in most of the city's boards and committees.

Women and the Reform Party

An increasing number of Canadian women are joining the Reform Party in a bid to have their collective voices heard. Previously apolitical, they find that they can easily relate to the party's platform of fiscal accountability, provincial equality and participatory government.
