Guidelines ensure accessibility for all
Article Abstract:
The National Organization for Women (NOW) established the Disability Rights Conference Implementation Committee in 1992 to ensure that accessibility and disability rights are implemented at all levels of the organization. The committee sends out guidelines to all NOW chapters to help them make meetings and public programs accessible to disabled people. It is also in charge in providing disabled members with special materials and services such as audio tapes, mobile scooters and the use of sign interpreters.

The National Organization for Women's rally on Apr 9, 1995, will provide women with an opportunity to express their opposition to Republican policies on welfare. Women activists are of the opinion that conservative Republicans' views on feminism and domestic violence will encourage violence against women. New Republican proposals on welfare may also affect many pro-women policies and programs.

NOW unites with breast cancer groups for research on causes and prevention
Article Abstract:
The National Organization for Women is coordinating efforts between Congress and more than 70 organizations to focus on breast cancer prevention research. Issues targeted for examination of causal relationships include environmental risk factors and breast implants.
