HPV and cancer
Article Abstract:
HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that causes abnormal Pap test results and may be a factor in precancerous conditions. Most abnormal Pap smears do not indicate cancer and most women with HPV will not develop cancer. Regular Pap smears and limiting the number of sex partners are the best protection against cervical cancer.
