Heather Immings never thought that she would be victim of wife abuse. Her husband, Bill, first showed signs of violence in the mid-1980s and in 1994, he almost killed her by hitting her with a tire iron. A narrative on how she recovered from this physical and emotional trauma is presented.

The Memorial Service for Babies in Ottawa, Canada, was started to help parents grieve openly for their babies who died soon before or after birth. Similar baby memorials and groups exist throughout Canada, including the Bereaved Families of Ontario and the Perinatal Bereavement Services.
