Sugar lovers can switch to honey because honey contains trace amounts of antioxidants that health experts believe help and prevent heart disease and its unique composition provides a quick energy boost for workouts. A study conducted at the University of Illinois at Urbano-Champaign found that honey boosted blood levels of antioxidants, which prevent cholesterol oxidation.
