Homeward bound: the ABCs of home-study programs

Article Abstract:

Home-study programs have become popular among those who wish to improve their employability, the disabled and people who reside too far from campus or who are not so keen on attending classes inside a classroom. However, the program denies the learner the opportunity to interact with an instructor and other students. Moreover, learners may fall prey to unscrupulous organizations which are not accredited by the US Dept of Education. The best thing to do is to check with government agencies before enrolling in a program.

Barbara Adrian: beating the odds

Article Abstract:

Barbara Adrian, one of the 1993 Top Ten Business Women of The American Business Women's Assn, shares some of her secrets for success. Adrian strongly believes that education is a prime requisite for success. She herself has struggled for 14 years to attend school on a part-time basis. A single parent at the age of 18, she is now the president and business manager of First Medical Equipment in Burlington, IO.

Talking about urinary incontinence

Article Abstract:

50% of women are affected by urinary incontinence during their lives and the cause can be due to tissue or nerve damage during childrbirth, menopausal estrogen deficiency, infections of the bladder or kidney and smoking. The two types of incontinence are stress incontinence and urge incontinence and treatment may include surgery, medication and exercise therapy.
