The 29-year-old former heavy smoker realized the damage wrought by tobacco on her health when she developed bronchitis in 1995 and after a few days found herself unable to breathe. A healthful diet consisting of plenty of fruits and vegetables and exercise has enabled her to reach her ideal weight of 118 lbs. More importantly, her healthy lifestyle has made her happier.

The measure of body fat is an important indication of physical fitness. However, results may vary, depending on the method of testing. A personal experience with three body-fat testing methods, in which the measurements varied from 11% to 20%, is described.
