In memoriam: NOW grieves the loss of four leaders

Article Abstract:

Two original founders of NOW and two long-time NOW activists passed away. Dr, Shepard Aronson and Gene Boyer were the original founder members, who gave direction to the movement whereas Rhoda Bradshaw and Mary Tully were hardcore activists who took great pride in the activities of the foundation.

Patricia Ireland is stepping down as president of the National Organization for Women after over 10 years of service because of term limit rules. Over the past decade she has fought for reproductive rights, championed women political candidates and fought for the needs of poor women.

In memoriam: Dorothy Haener: 'Sometimes you have to rock the boat.'(feminist and labor organizer)

Article Abstract:

Dorothy Haener was an activist for both women's rights and for the right of worker's to organize. She was a founder of the National Organization for Women and worked as an activist for the United Automobile Workers.
