Initial audit staff training schools: should some audit experience come first?
Article Abstract:
Survey responses from 111 auditors in three Big Eight firms suggest that an experience-first training strategy may be more effective than a training-first approach for novice auditors. There is also evidence that auditors should have at least three months of audit experience before they attend an initial audit staff training program. The minority of those surveyed who favored a training-first approach most frequently mentioned the value of reducing anxiety among auditors performing their initial work. Evidence is offered that experience-first auditors are no more likely to struggle or flounder on their initial audits than training-first auditors.

Why and how managers should invite chaos into the workplace
Article Abstract:
Chaos may present situations wherein problems seem too tough to handle but it can also trigger innovative solutions to address these problems. Managers can make chaos work for them by training their subordinates to handle these situations before they reach overwhelming proportions. Techniques such as undertaking high-pressure projects and creating a work group composed of members from different departments can open lines of communication, present new perspectives and consequently improve work attitudes and business operations.
