Iraqi women should think twice before accepting constitution
Article Abstract:
National Organization for Women President Kim Gandy reported that the women of Iraq would lose hard-won rights under the new constitution, and the US would share the blame for trading away women's rights. Conservative Sharia law as the basis for the country's family law system threatens to send Iraqi women back to the Middle Ages and hence Iraqi women should pause consider whether they would vote for it.

FDA urged to open access to emergency contraception
Article Abstract:
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will announce its decision on May 21, 2004 on granting over-the-counter status to Plan B, a brand of the morning after emergency contraception (EC) pill. NOW and other feminist groups are campaigning to pressurize FDA for approving over-the-counter availability of EC, which will provide an easy public access to the pill.
