Chronic stress has been shown to cause the body to release adrenaline and cortisol on a repeated basis, thus increasing the body's desire to crave high-fat foods and release insulin to process the foods. Exercise, relaxation, better stress management and good food habits are ways to better manage or prevent the effects of stress on the body and weight.
