Many common houseplants are poisonous if they are eaten, especially by children. Philodendron and dieffenbachia are the plants most often eaten. Parents should ensure the safety of their children by making sure that they cannot reach any poisonous plants. Treatment is described.

Avoiding Lyme disease
Article Abstract:
Parents can protect their children from the Lyme disease carrying deer tick by dressing them in clothing that covers arms and legs, and spraying the clothing and skin with child safe insect repellent. Information on tick removal and symptoms of Lyme disease are given.

An estimated three to four million children are exposed to harmful levels of lead through various sources, such as drinking water, lead-based paint and pollution. Ways to lessen a child's exposure to lead are described.
