Kids, crime and cash: why parental payback just doesn't add up
Article Abstract:
The emerging trend in dealing with juvenile offenders in Canada is to make parents pay for their children's crimes. However, this practice is wrong because the parents did not commit the crimes. It also penalizes good parents and low-income parents unable to afford a good defense lawyer.
