Legal prosecution of perpetrators of sexual assault: implications for counselors and clients
Article Abstract:
More adult sexual assault and abuse victims are choosing to prosecute their abusers which creates a counseling issue for their psychotherapists both in recognizing stress symptoms caused by the prosecution and possible involvement in the legal case. Counselors need to be aware of current state laws and treatment of sexual assault cases to respond adequately to the clients' needs and the possibility of being called as an expert witness. They also need to be able to respond rapidly to symptoms resulting from the trauma of testifying which is often considered a confrontation by the clients.

Judy Chicago, feminist artist and educator
Article Abstract:
Judy's feminist 'outing' took place in her 1970 exhibit when she first showed her works associated with feminist concerns, the female anatomy and orgasm. That was the time she also formally renounced her male-given names and took the name Chicago. A pioneering feminist artist, she established the Fresno Feminist Art Program at the California State University in Fresno, which incorporated consciousness-raising, focusing on female experience. Her other works that promoted feminist issues include The Dinner Party, Power Play and Holocaust Project.
