Article Abstract:

NOW will hold its final conference of the 20th century in Los Angeles, CA, on Jul 2-4, 1999. By holding a conference in the world's entertainment capital, women activists hope to make their voices heard in an industry that often depicts women in a demeaning light. The conference will also be a venue to formulate strategies for the year 2000 and beyond and renew NOW's commitment to have 2000 feminist elected officials by next year.
