Medical treatment to fetuses still in the womb can sometimes save a baby's life. Fetal treatment such as blood transfusions, prenatal drugs, and open and closed uterus fetal surgery can treat babies who have Rh incompatibility, heart rhythm irregularity and other health problems.

Placental problems are among the most common second- and third-trimester irregularities, affecting about 1 of every 100 women. Such problems can cause miscarriage or premature birth if not treated promptly. Types and indications of placenta problems are discussed.

Issues relating to urological health during pregnancy are discussed. The pressure of uterus on the urinary bladder causes stress incontinence; during pregnancy, and to prevent leakage by doing Kegel exercises is suggested.
