A traditional peanut butter pie is remade into a low-fat version by using a low-fat crust, low-fat or fat-free cheeses and a low-fat topping. The fat content in the revised recipe is only one-third of the original.

A recipe is given for carrot cake that is low fat, made with whole wheat flour, does not use eggs, and uses a reduced amount of sugar and walnuts. The old recipe and the new recipe are presented side by side.
