Article Abstract:
Humans invariably continue habits that they know are bad for them. The reasons for this behavior are discussed and suggestions for controlling them are given. Seven strategies to help make permanent changes include changing behavior in stages, using distractions, avoiding the places, people and things associated with the behavior and accepting relapses.
