NOW mobilizes in wake of deadly clinic bombing
Article Abstract:
Members of the National Organization for Women (NOW) staged a massive protest in Birmingham, AL, to denounce the fatal bombing of the All Women Health Care Center. The explosion, which took place on Jan 29, 1999, claimed the life of a security personnel and a police officer, while injuring another nurse. Preliminary investigation linked the bombing with the same incidents in a clinic and lesbian night club in Atlanta, GA. During the protest, NOW members conducted a vigil wherein they expressed concerns on the rising criminality against women.

Women-Friendly Workplace Campaign intensifies
Article Abstract:
The National Organization for Women (NOW) has launched its 'Women-Friendly Workplace Campaign' to stop work-related sexual harassment, race and sex discrimination and other workplace abuses. The organization is concentrating on rallying against Smith Barney and Mitsubishi for the abuses they did to their female employees. Both companies have been respectively named by NOW as first and second 'Merchant of Shame.'
