Thousands of Americans are smoking marijuana to relieve the symptoms of diseases such as glaucoma, cancer, multiple sclerosis and AIDS. California and Arizona passed initiatives supporting medical marijuana use last Nov. 1996. Major medical organizations are also calling for further research on the medicinal use of pot.

Cancer research scientist Paul Talalay has discovered that broccoli sprouts contain 50 times the quantity of the antioxidant sulforaphane found in mature broccoli. This makes broccoli sprouts the best naturally-occurring cancer-fighting food. However, some scientists are reluctant to accept this.

Patients who suffer from different illnesses such as multiple sclerosis and cancer found smoking of marijuana helpful in easing pain and other symptomatic disorders. However, though most doctors believe that marijuana can really help, they think that its the best remedy for their patients.
