Mary Ellen Clark's new platform
Article Abstract:
Clark started late as a diver, and in spite of an early onset of the chronic disease which renders the victim dizzy and nauseated, she became an Olympic champion. But the Atlanta Olympics of 1996 was her last competition. She now devotes herself to speaking to others about overcoming obstacles.

All that glitters is not gold; for Susan De Mattei, Olympic bronze couldn't have been sweeter

De Mattei trained for two years to earn a spot on the US women's mountain biking team at the 1996 Olympics. She thrilled the crowd by coming in third and winning a bronze medal. De Mattei now plans to teach and start a family. She also gives tips on training and racing.

A diver gets a boost
Article Abstract:
Diver Mary Ellen Clark received a $600 grant from the Women's Sports Foundation in 1990. This recognition provided a boost that was a factor in winning her bronze medal in the 1992 Olympics.
