Article Abstract:
High-ranking military officials in the US vowed to implement the necessary measures to prevent sexual misconduct in the service, in view of the increasing number of sex-related cases filed by women military officers. One of the most intriguing cases currently undergoing investigation is the rape of a 12-year-old daughter of a retired army sergeant. The girl was allegedly raped by a staff sergeant and a first class private, who were charged with adultery, lying and having sex with a minor.

Love Your Body events raise awareness and self-esteem
Article Abstract:
The NOW Foundation's eighth annual Love Your Body campaign for 2005 helps raise awareness about women's health, body image and self-esteem. Activists would speak out against the unrealistic vision of Hollywood, fashion advertising and diet industries, the physical risk of silicone breast implants and tobacco products, and call for diverse and realistic images of women and girls in the media, images that help to promote good health and encourage self-esteem among women and girls.

Spotlight on Wal-Mart's shameful practices
Article Abstract:
'Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices', a film produced by Robert Greenwald featuring National Organization for Women's campaign is the result of a collaborative effort by progressive organizations to expose the effects of Wal-Mart's unfair business practices. Wal-Mart is facing the largest gender discrimination suit in history, with 1.6 million female plaintiffs, as it has institutionalized discrimination against women and people of color in its business practices.
