Miscarriage: the influence of selected variables on impact
Article Abstract:
The psychological impact of miscarriage on both partners has been well researched with many contradictory results. A study of 120 primarily white, women college students and their partners revealed that women were more affected than men, that pregnancy length and induced abortion experience were associated with avoidant distress and gender of the parent and pregnancy length could predict intrusive distress. Other factors that were examined but had little noticeable predictive impact include: cause of miscarriage, other children, previous miscarriages and wanted or unwanted pregnancy.
