"My job is miserable!" (American Business Women's Association's 'Member Makeover' program)

The American Business Women's Assn.'s 'Member Makeover' program was developed to help women solve their professional problems and attain their career objectives. KRUG Life Sciences employee Debra L. Burt is one of the many women to whom this program, through its career experts, has provided much-needed assistance. Burt had long complained about being asked to do tasks which were not related to her position as data analyst. Experts working under the program offered numerous suggestions on how she can reverse the situation.

Industrial Alloy Fabricators Inc. became the first in its line of business to be certified under the International Organization for Standardization's tough quality standards largely through the efforts of engineering and quality systems manager Marianne Lewis Lawrence. To achieve this goal, Lawrence sought the advice of experts from the American Business Women's Assn. and carefully applied the goal-setting, teamwork and various management skills she learned as a member of the organization.

The American Business Women's Assn. (ABWA) offers skill building programs to help women maintain their job security. The ABWA Business Skill-Builder Program includes tests, training resources and exercises for the development of additional skills, while the SuccessNet videos, business-skills and leadership seminars provide affordable continuing education. ABWA also provides support services to victims of corporate reorganizations.
