NOW steps in to defuse "Mommy wars" myth

Article Abstract:

NOW are diverting attention from the very real issues all moms and caregivers face in 2006 by pitting two groups of hardworking women, stay-at-home moms, and employed moms, against each other. They discussed issues such as the way society could better support mothers and caregivers so that they could choose to work either outside or inside the home without additional guilt, financial strife or other barriers.

TV commercials exploit, ridicule or sideline women

Article Abstract:

The media has, for long, been exploiting women in advertising and this has reached a stage that many don't feel outraged or care anymore. Until the media and advertising industry develop a newfound respect fro women, the struggle tobe taken seriously and viewed as equals will continue.

NOW's first awards gala a huge success

Article Abstract:

The National Organization for Women honored four women's activists, for their outstanding achievements, at its first gala held on July 10, 2003. The candle-lit event was attended by a cross section of leaders and civil rights activists from progressive movements.
