Clinton veto needed punitive welfare legislation
Article Abstract:
National Organization for Women (NOW) activists are urging Pres. Bill Clinton to veto the House-Senate bill that will cut a total of $82 billion from welfare programs for children and families. NOW Action VP Rosemary Dempsey says this new bill is worse than the separate House bill and Senate bill, which proposed to cut $92 billion and $65 billion from the welfare fund, respectively. NOW has generated calls to its supporters in the government to oppose any punitive measure and to ensure that Clinton vetoes the bill.

On 25th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, NOW asks "who still has a choice?"
Article Abstract:
Members of the National Organization for Women (NOW) are urging the government to implement the constitutional right of women to undergo abortion, as they commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade litigation. Despite the Supreme Court's decision to legalize abortion in the country, only a few women have exercised their right due to the violent protests of anti-abortion movements. Reports revealed that women, even physicians, have continuously been threatened by anti-abortion protesters.
