Are we losing the war against cancer?

Article Abstract:

The Nation Cancer Institue spends approximately 38% of its budget on identifying people at risk for cancer, prevention and intervention. Yet critics claim diagnosis and treatment is damage control. In spite of overwhelming resources the cancer establishment has failed to provide Congress and citizens with well-document evidence on avoidable causes of cancer. In addition there have been unfounded attacks on alternative therapies in favor of promoting extravagant, conventional treatment.
