Using Dempster-Shafer theory to represent climate change uncertainties

Article Abstract:

Dempster-Shafer theory for representing climate change uncertainties allows for more flexibility than the Bayesian approach when quantifying weak information. The approach also reveals the results of decision analysis more accurately. This is achieved by using probabilities which are assigned to intervals of values that can have chosen interval size for all inputs, whether overlapping or not. However, both the approaches yield the same results when the uncertainties are less acute.
