The professional opportunities for women in accounting, finance, and banking have significantly improved; most companies have genuinely accepted women on their management teams. Employment agencies offer women a desirable path to management for most companies, rather than the prospective employees, pay the agencies' fees, and women can use agencies to filter out jobs that do not meet their criteria. The types of agencies include outplacement firms, career counselors, and recruiters.

People who like problem solving, mystery stories and crossword puzzles, are often drawn to the sport of orienteering. A map and a compass are used in a hunt for objects usually placed in a wooded area. About 35% of people enjoying this sport are women. Children also find the sport enjoyable.
