Pressing for a second violence against women law

Article Abstract:

An extension of the 1994 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is slated to be enacted during the 105th Congress. The new legislation, called Violence Against Women Act II, seeks to protect women from physical, sexual and other related abuses, particularly in workplaces. The law further moves for the allocation of $1 billion for providing battered women with shelters. Through the law, resistant judges would be granted educational privileges to study domestic violence.
