Campus rape ignored . . . even when there's a videotape
Article Abstract:
Campus rape may be ignored even when a videotape of the event exists. On college campuses, administrators and campus police try to protect the image of the school and they often discourage reporting rapes to local law enforcement. They may even punish women who speak out. Victims of sexual assault are often persuaded to use the disciplinary of the school, promising to keep the matter quiet, which often appeals to young women not wanted to be in a courtroom. A videotape of a rape in a fraternity house in Florida was released to the media by a judge.
