Over one million march for women's millions lives

Article Abstract:

About 1.15 million people participated in the march for the betterment of women's lives on April 25, 2004 at the National Mall, between the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument. They were of the opinion that this march was organised to protect women and advance abortion rights, birth control and access to a full range of reproductive health care options to them.

Same-sex marriage: The fight for equality gains momentum

Article Abstract:

Discrimination against same-sex couples extends to the children brought into the family through birth, adoption or surrogacy as lesbian and gay parents are unable to assume parenting rights. Same-sex couples in the US do not have the ability to marry despite the US Supreme Court declaring that marriage is a fundamental right under the Constitution.

The Scalia mold: A dangerous future for the nation's highest court

Article Abstract:

President George Bush has cited the ultra-conservative anti-abortion Supreme Court justice, Antonin Scalia as the most admired justice. Justice Scalia is known for his dissenting views in judgments when his opinion is not on the prevailing side of the court.
