Participative leadership or project paralysis: a good leadership plan plays a major role in completing projects

Article Abstract:

Managers must be equipped with the necessary skills to lead employees and avoid project paralysis. Project leaders can avoid bouts of paralysis and effectively deal with them by actively taking the initiative in delegating tasks and directing people. Leaders should be able to identify their own strengths and liabilities and motivate subordinate to action. Managers should also be able to learn from mistakes and use them as advantages in future projects.

The American Business Women's Assn.'s Top Ten Business Women for 1997 all have the ability to balance their work and personal lives. They have achieved success by learning how to find time for their work, home, family, community and themselves. The awardees include judge Janet Seiwert Bell, Southwestern Bell executive Ann E. Mah, former mayor Marge Crouter, Buffalo Flange VP Myrleen Knott, and financial consultant Brenda Sparks McCleerey.

The SELF profile: understanding yourself and others

Article Abstract:

The SELF Profile is an assessment test individuals can use to determine the type of personality they have. Individuals generally fall under four categories which include reveal how introverted, assertive, or outgoing he or she is. Learning one's personality type can be beneficial in determining which type of job would best suit an individual and also in maximizing employee potential.
