Preventing vaginitis

Vaginitis is an inflammation or infection of the vagina tissues. Candida albicans fungus, which causes one of the more common types of vaginitis, thrives in a warm, moist environment and therefore many athletic women may be infected. Treatment and prevention of vaginitis is discussed.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is proving to be valuable in the diagnosing of sports injuries because the resulting image presents a sharp contrast between bone, bone marrow, ligaments, blood vessels, cartilage, muscles and tendons. The technique and use of MRI is described.

An exercise program does not always bring about weight loss. Exercise builds muscles, and muscle tissue is heavier than fat. But muscle tissue should be maintained or increased, and this in turn increases the basal metabolic rate which burns more calories.
