A study of female long-distance runners found those who lifted weights improved their performance times and had less injuries. General tips on how to incorporate a weight program into a training regimen are given along with specific advice for runners, cyclists and swimmers.

ABC Sports has produced five documentaries about women in sports. The first, a pilot, was broadcast in Oct 1994, and won respectable reviews and ratings. The next four will be broadcast in Apr and May 1995. Athletes profiled include Nadia Comaneci and Katarina Witt.

Spinning is a new fitness workout using a new stationary bicycle design that allows the user to vary the experience by simulating hills and positions. The bicycle, designed by fitness expert Johnny G., has a gear drive, a flywheel and is sold by Schwinn for $599.
