Relocation laws keep women in their place
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the effects of the 1998 Missouri law which requires divorced parents to consult one another when planning to move, the intent of the bill is to prevent separation of parent and child by a distance that would make parenting unmanageable. Father's rights groups claim that children suffer from Parental Alienation Syndrome, which is not recognized by the American Medical Association; women's rights groups argue that this is an effort by ex-husbands to exercise control over their ex-wives and children.

No-fault divorce laws under attack by right
Article Abstract:
The Judiciary Committee of the Pennsylvania House has held hearings regarding a possible amendment or even a repeal of state's no-fault divorce laws. The campaign against the no-fault divorce laws was initiated by right-wing groups, including the Pennsylvania Family Institute. Testimonies during the hearings in Aug 1996 indicated that the problem is with the enforcement of divorce court orders rather than the no-fault law.
