Revolutionizing the psyche of patriarchy
Article Abstract:
Shere Hite talks about the controversial '76 publication, 'The Hite Report on Female Sexuality and her recent (1994) one, 'The Hite Report on the Family: Growing Up Under Patriarchy' as well as the books in between. In 1976, it was not only her topic that was revolutionary; even her methodology of giving the respondents their voice was unusual. The '94 book disproves Freud's theories regarding female sexuality, one of which is puberty. Hite says that girls do not get sexually awakened since they are already sexual from the start.

Women's psychology, goddess archetypes, and patriarchy: a Jungian analyst, feminist activist, visionary feminist foremother
Article Abstract:
Jean Shimoda's career in psychology and her involvement with the women's movement took place at the same time. She was doing her residency at the time when women were a minority in the psychiatric field and the males were the authority even in matters that concerned women. Her active participation in the feminist movement shaped her approach toward psychology, informed by Jungian theories, but feminist in discourse. She authored several books on the archetypal aspects of the psyche conflated with women's spirituality.

Some contributions to feminist research in psychology
Article Abstract:
Three research studies on feminist psychology are discussed. A study shows that women who assert themselves in the workplace go against the society's typical image of a woman. Another study focuses on sexual harassment in the government workplace. The third study addresses the need for women to take part in the shaping and enforcing of programs designed to control their reproductive functions.
