Rise of the morning-after pill

Emergency contraception pills contain highly concentrated estrogen and progestin hormones to help delay ovulation or prevent a fertilized egg's implantation in the uterine wall. They are taken to prevent pregnancy after indulging in unprotected sex.

Pregnant women may find relief from morning sickness by eating tasteless foods such as toast in the morning, drinking cola syrup, having smaller meals and not eating acidic foods. Vitamin B6 also may curb nausea and is safe in low doses.
