Save the court: Supreme Court vacancies create double jeopardy for women
Article Abstract:
The nomination of at least two justices to the Supreme Court, including the chief justice by the US President George W. Bush during his presidency in 2005 would create double jeopardy for women and girls. National Organization for Women (NOW) declared a state of emergency for women's rights with Justice Sandra O'Connor's July 1, 2005 resignation, however, when the nomination of John G. Roberts, Jr. was announced as her replacement, NOW opposed the nomination considering Robert's record on women's right.
