Saving face
Article Abstract:
Carolyn Thomas's boyfriend, Terrence Kelly, in a drug-induced rage, stormed into her Waco apartment in Texas in 2003 and shot her in her right temple at point-blank range with a .44 Magnum revolver that ripped through her right eye, sheared off her nose, her left cheek and part of her left jaw. Thomas's intense journey is described, one that took two years, seven operations and an emotional turnaround.
