The lungs of infants do not begin to work until birth, when the blood vessels open and increase blood flow. Infants often suffer from respiratory problems such as colds, croup and asthma, because their systems are small and the immune system is developing.

Article Abstract:
Research suggests that young children may be more sensitive to noise than adults. Parents can protect their children's ears by keeping noise levels low. A noise is too loud if people have to raise their voices to be heard.
