Article Abstract:
Men allegedly assault their wives to assert their power and to hide inadequacies. Wives, on the other hand, stay on with their abusive husbands because of fear and economic dependency. What is needed is an intensive public-awareness campaign to address the problem of domestic violence.

Most people refuse to believe that women can also be perpetrators of family violence. However, cases such as those of Lorena Bobbitt who castrated her husband and Susan Smith who killed her sons indicate that women are capable violent acts.

Who killed Miss Canada?

The 1992 Miss Canada pageant may be the last one to be held. Contest producers say its because of the lack of profits. The real reason could be changes in the social culture that has lost its appeal for beauty contests.
