Small workouts, big benefits

Article Abstract:

A study has shown that several short bouts of exercise during the day have the same health and weight-loss benefits as one long workout. A single exercise session of 30 minutes was compared to three 10-minute sessions.

A simple slowdown cure

Article Abstract:

A study of six women runners who suffered from fatigue, cold intolerance and weight gain revealed that they all had hypothyroidism. The condition is easily treated with a synthetic hormone called levothyroxine.

Physically active people have an increased need for salt in their diet since prolonged sweating cause the body to lose sodium. Too little sodium can cause a sodium depletion state called hyponatremia.
