Massport modernization
Article Abstract:
The Massachusetts Port Authority hasstarted the improvement project of the Paul W. Conley Marine Terminal in Boston, MA. The project entails the combination of berths 11 and 12 to increasedocking capacity, upgrade crane service and enable the facility to continue operations in the event of crane damage. An all-vertical pile system will serveto stabilize the structure against lateral loads while another system retains the rock-fill material installed to ensure slope protection and enhances the facility's geotechnical properties. Phased project development causes only slight operational disruptions.
