Chuck Gerba, professor of environmental microbiology at the University of Arizona in Tucson, speaks on ways to help the family avoid colds and other illness at home and work. A multistate study about germs in the workplace reveals that the average desktop was found to harbor more than 20,000 germs per square and five most bacteria-contaminated spots were telephones, desktops, water-fountain handles, microwave door handles, and keyboards.
