There is concern that the abundance of activities that are now available for children is having an effect on quality family time, such as eating together, and visiting grandparents. Family Life 1st is an organization in Minnesota set up by parents to ensure children's activities are family-friendly.

The power of rituals

Article Abstract:

Family rituals are healthy and promote togetherness in a hectic world. However, such rituals should not be rigid because they lose their power. Examples of rituals cited include hugs and kisses when family members leave or return home and reading to children.

Advice is presented for working mothers on sustaining a loving relationship with a partner by finding time to spend with one's partner. Suggestions includes enrolling together in an adult education course or lunching together rather than with clients.
