Fruit and vegetables are termed as fastest-growing source of food poisoning outbreaks. Americans are sickened by salmonella-tainted cantaloupes from Mexico, E.coli-contaminated lettuce from California and parasite infested raspberries from Guatemala.

Since 28% of food-poisoning cases are caused by unclean produce, tips for making sure produce is ultra clean are provided. Tips include rinsing produce well, discarding outer layers of leafy vegetables and firmly scrubbing firm fruit and vegetables.
