Supreme Court rules on landmark cases
Article Abstract:
The Supreme Court ruled on two cases that could have far reaching effects on the lesbian, gay and civil rights of many Americans. In one of the cases the court struck down the sodomy law and in the other issued a ruling on the action policies challenging admissions at the University of Michigan law school.

NOW keeps a close watch on Bush court appointments

The appointments of some of the conservative judges to the Federal Courts are highlighted. President Bush and Republicans confirmed 200 lifetime appointments of conservative judges to lower courts, which hear around 28,000 last resort cases during the year.
