Accounting department retreats
Article Abstract:
University accounting departments can use retreats to deal with important issues without being interrupted by daily routines. Retreats can be used to improve faculty cohesiveness, allow new administrators to get acquainted with faculty members, and allow faculty to conduct in-depth discussions. A successful retreat depends on the selection of the appropriate time of year for the retreat, the selection of an appropriate location, the preparation of an agenda, and the selection of effective discussion leaders.

Gender biased language in accounting and business journals
Article Abstract:
The status of sexist language in accounting literature was studied by examining 48 articles in academic and non-academic journals. It was discovered that almost half of all articles studied contained discriminatory terminology. The results indicate a lack of awareness on the part of authors, reviewers, and editors of the negative impact of sexist language and the need for its elimination as a step towards removing obstacles to the upward mobility of women accountants.
