An overview is provided of obesity, a disease that affects more than 25% of American adults, and kills 400,000 Americans each year. Although there have been many changes in modern eating habits that encourage obesity, society still blames the individual for getting fat, and many doctors fail to make obese people aware of the medical risks of their condition.

The race against breast cancer
Article Abstract:
The Journal of the National Cancer Institute has reported that the mortality rate for breast cancer has fallen by 5% from 1989-1992. However, the mortality rate among black women has risen. Cancer is predicted to replace heart disease as the leading killer disease.
